Mighty Oaks
Ethos and Mission
At Mighty Oaks we promote play: providing a safe and well resourced environment to give children opportunities and stimulations. We facilitate children exploring their own innate desires for creation, imagination, physical, mental and emotional challenge.
At Mighty Oaks we believe it is our responsibility to counteract the increasingly screen based childhood that our culture is creating for our children and young people. We believe play is central to children’s strong mental health and in developing in them the social, physical and emotional skills to help them navigate their lives.
We use adult led activities, such as art and team games to offer stimulation but these are not compulsory. We allow children to enjoy free play as much as possible. In this we follow The Playwork Principles.
